Kirkcaldy's
Enjoyable Future
We
aim to make Kirkcaldy a quality tourist, culture and leisure
destination that meets and exceeds the expectations of residents
and visitors alike.
Key
to Kirkcaldy’s ability to retain and attract visitors
is exploiting its two unique assets; its philanthropic legacy
of gracious public buildings and its striking waterfront setting.
The
impressive Museum & Art Gallery housing paintings by Peploe
and McTaggart needs to be expanded to accommodate existing
art collections of national significance and made more appealing
to younger visitors.
Similarly, the town’s popular Adam Smith Theatre requires
new investment to further enhance its reputation and attractiveness.
The
waterfront, with panoramic views across the Forth to Edinburgh,
is one of Kirkcaldy’s most under-exploited assets. Its
development is absolutely fundamental to enhancing the town’s
appeal.
Commercial
nightlife in the town is thriving - but needs continuing innovation
and diversity to hold its attractiveness for leisure and pleasure
seekers.
