 We
are committed to ensuring that Kirkcaldy’s future economy
will be one that is prosperous, equitable and sustainable.
Our
strategy focuses on increasing prosperity and economic growth
in a manner that is sustainable and is distributed as widely
as possible.
The
strategy will be based on achieving progress in three key
areas:
INCREASING
PRODUCTIVITY – Increasing productivity levels
will mean greater competitiveness and efficiency, leading
to higher output and increased employment opportunities;
INCREASING
PROSPERITY - The development of Kirkcaldy’s
economy is ultimately about greater prosperity for people
and generating a better quality of life. Creating the conditions
in which the people of Kirkcaldy are able to access higher
skilled, higher paid jobs is at the heart of the vision for
the town. Shifting more of the town’s economic base
into higher value activity will be key to future success;
and,
INCREASING
PARTICIPATION – Sustainable growth cannot be
achieved if some people are disengaged from economic activity.
Increasing the number of people participating in the economy
will provide employment and economic opportunities for the
people of Kirkcaldy and to help create a fair and just society.
