Kirkcaldy's
Safe & Welcoming Town Centre
We aim to deliver a high quality, clean, safe & welcoming
town centre for residents, businesses and visitors.
The creation of a pleasant, safe and well-managed environment
offering high quality streetscape and public spaces is vital
to the perception and feel of any town.
It
enhances the appreciation people have about the quality of
their urban environment, helps reinforce a sense of place
and identity and is vital in supporting the economic development
of Kirkcaldy.
High
quality public spaces make a town a more desirable place to
live, work and spend time.
We
will focus on the following key locations within the town
centre:
| Kirkcaldy's
Garden Town |
stretching
from the Townsends through St Brycedale and beyond to
Beveridge Park punctuating the stately Victorian stone
buildings with green open space |
| Kirkcaldy's
Commercial Town |
comprising
the length of the High Street including the remnants of
medieval street patterns and Burgages |
| Kirkcaldy's
Seafront Town |
taking
in the Esplanade and harbour including Port Brae |
| Kirkcaldy's
Enterprise Town |
situated
within the Seafront and Commercial Quarters to provide
a development zone for new cultural, leisure and tourist
industry |
