Upgrading
of Sea Wall
The
condition of the Kirkcaldy sea wall has been a concern for
some years, as has the amount of spray and water that overtops
the wall during stormy conditions.
A
marine consultant's report commissioned by Fife Council has
revealed that significant works are required to ensure it
continues to safeguard the town in years to come, taking account
of climate change.
The
findings of this report together with the planned works for
the project was put out to public consultation in November
last year with a 3 day public meeting and an online questionnaire.
The
preferred option will form an important part of Kirkcaldy
Renaissance's vision to redevelop the Esplanade area, turning
it from a neglected eyesore which is cut off from the town
centre, into a magnet for townspeople and visitors.
